5-Star Maddyn Greenway Commits to KENTUCKY!

Still coming down from the excitement of beginning his 2025 class with five-star Kaelyn Carroll, Kenny Brooks has landed ANOTHER five-star to begin his 2026 class. Maddyn Greenway, a 5’8 point guard from Minneapolis, Minnesota, is ranked as the #18 player in the 2026 class according to the 247 composites (an average of the reputable recruiting sites). Greenway chose the Cats over Iowa (where both parents played), UCLA, Stanford, Clemson, Duke, and the home state Minnesota Golden Gophers (did not make her top 6).

Greenway has already achieved an impressive resume heading into her junior season at Providence Academy. Starting her varsity career in the seventh grade, Greenway accumulated 1,000 points before taking a high school class and was in the middle of her high school sophomore season when she eclipsed the 3,000 mark. This past season she averaged 34.3 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 7.5 assists while leading her team to their third straight state championship. Speaking of state championships, she has also already picked up state titles in track and soccer as well. A complete athlete with good footwork and body control, it is easy to see why she is so productive at the high school level.

Greenway is capable of scoring in bunches, as shown by her impressive averages and career totals. She can shoot from anywhere on the court, on or off the dribble, but what makes her most dangerous is her ability to get to the rim. While her positional size and strength are impressive, her agility and acceleration are what stood out to me the most. She showed a good handle and the ability to consistently create separation when driving to the lane, where she can either display her deep bag of finishing moves or dish an assist to any spot on the court. She constantly finds herself in passing lanes or getting deflections on the defensive end, highlighted by over four steals a game. Also, her dad is Chad Greenway from the Vikings, so that’s pretty cool.

In an interview with Ron Haggstrom of The Minnesota Star Tribune, her response to a list of her achievements was: “I still have something to prove.” Kentucky got a good one, folks.
