The University of Kentucky women’s basketball team took care of business Thursday
night against Northern Kentucky. Memorial celebrated Space Jam night with a halftime
mascot scrimmage and Frat night with multiple games for the fraternity brothers to
partake in. Kentucky walked away with their second win of season and handed NKU
their second. The game started off slow but the cats quickly found momentum with
Strack leading the scoring going into halftime. It’s no shock that this women’s team
biggest advantage is their height. Even with NKUs shots flying the Wildcats had the
boards covered all night with a team total of 52. In the second half it was all Kentucky.
The cats dominated and only gave up 18 points in the third and fourth quarter. To close
out the game Clara Silva had 18 points and went 9/14 from the field helping the cats win
70-41. The ladies look to keep things going Tuesday night as they take on Wofford at 6
p.m. back at Memorial Coliseum.
