Jaland Lowe Enters Transfer Portal

The first transfer portal domino has fallen for the Kentucky Wildcats this offseason, as Jaland Lowe has departed the program.

Lowe appeared in just nine games this past season for the Wildcats. He suffered a dislocated shoulder in the annual Kentucky Blue-White Game and experienced the injury three more times throughout the season. After the fourth dislocation, in a game against Mississippi State on Jan. 10, Lowe elected to undergo season-ending shoulder surgery.

Originally from Missouri City, Texas, Lowe played his first two seasons at Pittsburgh before transferring to Kentucky for a brief stint in Lexington.

In his nine appearances at Kentucky, Lowe started two games. He was expected to be the team’s primary point guard entering the season, averaging 18.6 minutes per game. Lowe posted 8.0 points, 2.4 assists, 2.1 rebounds, and 0.7 steals per game, while shooting 35.8 percent from the field, 20.8 percent from three, and 70.4 percent from the free throw line.

Kentucky will now turn to the transfer portal to add a new primary point guard this offseason, as Mark Pope and his staff look to reshape the roster heading into next season.
