Kentucky is facing another surprise offseason change as Denzel Aberdeen has put his name in the transfer portal after one season in Lexington. Aberdeen came from Florida fresh off a championship, and quickly became crucial to this years team with the backcourt injuries.
During the 2025–26 season at Kentucky, Aberdeen started 35 of 36 games and averaged 13.5 points, 3.4 assists, and 2.5 rebounds per game while playing over 30 minutes per contest. He shot 43.3% from the field, 36.3% from three-point range, and nearly 80% from the free throw line.

Before arriving in Lexington, Aberdeen spent three seasons at Florida, gradually increasing his production each year. After limited minutes as a freshman, he developed into a starter during the 2024–25 season,
‘Another wrinkle in the situation is Aberdeen’s eligibility. As things currently stand, Aberdeen will need an additional waiver to gain another season of eligibility, making the portal decision even more interesting. With the transfer portal still active and roster movement continuing across college basketball, Kentucky will continue to look for players to replace people like Aberdeen.
