Kentucky has very strong interest in Naithan George

We’re less than 48 hours away from the transfer portal official opening. But there is now another talented player to keep an eye on once the portal officially opens on April 7th.

Syracuse point-guard Naithan George is the latest portal addition. Kentucky is expected to have interest and be involved in his recruitment once the transfer portal officially opens. According to Kentucky Mens’ Basketball writer Wyatt Huff, of Sports Illustrated.

Naithan George is a 6-foot-3, 185-pound point guard. He finished top five in assists in the ACC in each of the past two seasons. The upcoming senior will have one year of eligibility left. This past season, he averaged 10.9PPG, 3.0RPG, and 5.4APG on 41/29/83 shooting splits. He didn’t shoot particularly well from three this past seasons. But, in his freshman and sophomore seasons at Georgia Tech, he shot 31.4 and 33.9% from beyond the arc, respectively.

Kentucky has had some horrible luck when it comes to guard health the last two years. Adding a well built, pass first point guard would be extremely beneficial. He would come off of the bench. But who can complain about someone who knows how to handle point guard responsibilities? Especially with the shoulder injuries.

The coaching staff has made it clear they’re interested in many guards early. There will be much more information soon once coaches can make direct contact with players. Keep your head on a swivel. This will move quickly, and the portal won’t be open as long as it has been in the past. Naithan George is definitely someone to keep an eye on in the coming days.
