It’s shaping up one of the most important recruiting stretches of the offseason for Kentucky basketball. The Cats are lining up and hosting a number of visitors while the staff work to build their roster after losing 7 players to the transfer portal. If you think they’d been going after studs recently, there are plenty more to consider this week.
Jalen Cox – Visting Wednesday
It was recently reported Kentucky would have interest in Colgate guard Jalen Cox. Earlier this morning, Bleed Blue’s Dylan Lewis posted that he will visit Kentucky this Wednesday. The 6’3 junior averaged 17.9 points, 5.3 assists and got 5.2 rebounds per game this past season. He also shot 36.5 percent from three point range. He also made the First Team All-Patriot League and the All-Defensive Team this past season.

Magoon Gwath – Visiting Fridauy
Gwath is a name that Kentucky fans remember. He was crystal-balled to Kentucky this time last year, before returning back home to San Diego State. The 7’0 big man from San Diego State averaged 8.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks in limited minutes last season while shooting over 52 percent from the field. He also shot 43.5% from the three this season. However, he did have some injury concerns, only playing 25 games and starting just 16. Nonetheless, it would be a great back up big man to have assuming Malachi Moreno returns to Kentucky.

Terrence Brown – Visiting Friday
Terrence Brown’s visit carries immediate impact. The Utah transfer is coming off a strong season where he averaged 19.9 points, 3.8 assists, and 2.4 rebounds per game while shooting 45 percent from the field. He also played with former Kentucky guard Ansley Almonor his freshman season at FDU before transferring a year later. He has been rumored to schools like North Carolina, so this visit later in the week is intriguing. A picture of him on face time with Mark Pope was posted on twitter earlier last week.

Alex Wilkins – Visiting Later This Week
Alex Wilkins is another player who is due to arrive later on this week according to Bleed Blue’s Dylan Brake. He averaged 17.8 points, 4.7 assists, and 2.0 rebounds at Furman as a freshman this past season. Additionally, he also earned All-Southern Conference honors and tournament MVP honors. Wilkines is one of the most sought out mid-major players in the transfer portal.

As the week continues in Lexington, the volume of talent on campus signals Kentucky is pushing hard to build the next phase of the Mark Pope era, and much of that will be dependent on Tyran Stokes and Robert Wright III’s ongoing visits.
Time will tell.
