After conducting an in-home visit with 5⭐️ C Obinna Ekezie Jr on Wednesday, Kentucky is continuing their pursuit early. They have been focused on strengehtning relationships in the Class of ’27.
Dawson Battie is a five-star power forward from Dallas. He has been prioritized by Kentucky and won’t be getting an in-home visit like Obinna. This is because he’s currently in Indiana for the Team USA Junior National Team Mini Camp. This hasn’t slowed contact down with the coaches:
When asked how consistently Kentucky has reached out to him?
“I just talked to Coach McLean 5 Minutes ago! 😂”
He has also told me Kentucky was the top school reaching out the most at one point. I would expect Kentucky to stay a main contender in this recruitment.
Dawson is a 6’8 215lb stretch 4 with a ton of wing versatility. He has a strong handle already, and very good footwork. His IQ stands out among similar players at his position in this class. He reads over the defense well from the post, he makes the right reads and delivers passes on time. His shooting will need to become a little more consistent as a pick an pop guy wherever he goes. Additionally, he has a smooth jumper which i see translating well to the college level.
Kentucky fans ,this is an elite power forward and will be an elite prospect to watch in next years class. Would fit perfectly with what Kentucky likes to run.
