The Kentucky wildcats have officially begun building some late momentum in the Class of ’26 once again. Just a day after landing their first commitment from four-star point guard Mason Williams, Kentucky has now made contact with another major target in four-star wing Christopher Washington Jr. from Murfreesboo, Tennessee.
Washington is a 6’9 forward and is one of the top remaining players in his class. The Providence Christian Academy and multiple Mr. Tennessee has high-upside due to positional size, athleticism, and shooting ability. His recruitment has been a quiet one. He was previously committed to Alabama in September of 2025 before reopening his recruitment just a couple months later.
Since decommitting, Washington Jr. has been targeted by several high-major programs. Such as Tennessee, Auburn, Louisville, and is it very wide open. Kentucky entering the mix now adds another major contender to watch moving forward as the late signing period is in the near future.
He is considered a length power-forward with high upside. His ability to handle the ball, score from the perimeter, and elite athleticism makes him a very appealing target for programs (Especially ones that need wing shooters). Mark Pope and Kentucky have emphasized length and versatility in some past recruits. Players such as Kam Williams who are your stereotypical ‘3&D’ wings, and others signals they’re focused on building out a balanced class despite key misses on tip targets.
Christopher Washington Jr.’s recruitment is still wide open, but Kentucky’s early outreach shows they are prioritizing top, available targets. With this development being late into the high school recruiting period, things could pick up very quickly and should be something to monitor closely in the coming days.
