Kentucky has landed one of the biggest additions of the offseason, securing a commitment from Iowa State forward Milan Momcilovic.
The 6-foot-8 sharpshooter withdrew from the 2026 NBA Draft earlier this week. He immediately became one of the most sought-after players in college basketball. After drawing interest from Louisville, Arizona, and St. John’s, he has chosen Kentucky.
Momcilovic is coming off a breakout junior year where he averaged 16.9 points and 3.1 rebounds per game. Additionally, he shot 50.6% from the field and 48.7% from three range. He led the country with 136 made three-pointers and earned Second Team All-Big 12 honors.
Milan is a player that coaching staff has kept a close eye on for a significant amount of time. In the same way, his commitment fills a need for Kentucky that this roster was previously missing. Momcilovic’s shooting ability and size make him an ideal fit in Mark Pope’s system, with positional length one through five. He’s an offensive weapon capable of creating matchup problems while being a threat alongside creators such as Zoom Diallo and Alex Wilkins.
The addition finalizes Kentucky’s large additions to the roster as they are looking to compete with the best in the country in a make-or-break year for Mark Pope With multiple years of college experience and proven production in a power conference, Momcilovic arrives in Lexington as a player expected to make an immediate impact.
Landing Milan Momcilovic finally gives Mark Pope the missing piece this roster needed– the best shooter in the country.
