Kentucky basketball is reportedly making a strong push for an experienced international point guard as the offseason approaches. The Wildcats have emerged as one of several programs recruiting British standout Quinn Ellis, a veteran playmaker currently competing at a high level in the Euroleague.
Ellis, who will turn 23 years old on April 1, has built an impressive resume playing professionally since 2019. The 6’5 guard is known as a long, lean floor general who can control tempo, and defend at an elite level. He is currently playing for Olimpia Milano in Italy’s top domestic league while also gaining experience in the EuroLeague.
This past season, Ellis averaged around 8 points and more than 4 assists per game in European competition while continuing to develop. He has also performed well internationally, averaging 17.5 points and 7 assists per game for Great Britain during FIBA World Cup qualifying play. His production and leadership helped him earn multiple honors in 2025, including LBA Best Young Player, Italian Cup MVP, and Italian Supercup MVP.
Ellis previously declared for the 2024 NBA Draft but ultimately did not make the move to the United States. Instead, he returned overseas to continue his development.
According to international reporters Alberto Marzagalia and Matteo Andreani, Kentucky Wildcats men’s basketball is now firmly in the mix alongside several major programs. Schools such as Duke, Florida, Houston, BYU, and Louisville are also reportedly showing interest in the experienced guard.
Reports suggest that a potential NIL package to bring him stateside could reach around $3 million or more. For Kentucky, landing a veteran international point guard with pro experience would signal a major offseason addition and could reshape the Wildcats’ roster outlook heading into next season
Ellis’ size, maturity, and ability to run an offense make him one of the more intriguing overseas targets currently being monitored by top college programs.
