Liberty guard Brett Decker Jr. is has entered the transfer portal, and Kentucky is expected to show interest along with many other schools.
BlueBlueNetwork’s Dylan Brake has learned that Decker has entered the portal after a breakout sophomore season at Liberty. The 6’3 guard was one of the most efficient shooters in college basketball, and is now drawing attention from top programs across the country such as Louisville, Kentucky, Duke, Tennessee, Texas Tech, and more.
Decker, a native of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, is coming off a strong 2025-26 season. He averaged 16.9 points per game while shooting 49.9 percent from the field and 47.1 percent from three. Additionally, he shot 84.8 percent from the free throw line, totaling 50/47/85 shooting splits. His efficiency from deep placed him among the top three-point shooters in the nation this past season, only behind Milan Momcliovic.
The sophomore guard averaged 33.6 minutes per game and became a reliable scoring option in Liberty’s offense. He also added 2.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game.
Decker’s Kentucky ties could play a role in his recruitment. Growing up in Elizabethtown and developing into a high-level college scorer, he is now one of the more intriguing in-state transfer options available. Bleed Blue Network has learned that both Kentucky and Louisville will have interest, as they will both be looking to create a new backcourt for the upcoming season.
