Version 3 of Kentucky Player Profiles features Iowa State transfer Milan Momcilovic–The nations best three-point shooter last season who is looking to have another big season in Lexington.
Milan Momcilovic attended Pewaukee High School In Wisconsin, and he led his team to 3 straight State Championships, averaging 23.4 Points, and 10.1 Rebounds his senior year. A 2,000 Point Scorer across his high school career, also finishing as a consensus Four-Star Recruit who than committed to Iowa State.

Started 101 of 102 Career Games for Iowa State. As a Freshman he started 37/37 Games, averaged 10.9 Points, 3.1 Rebounds, 1.2 Assists, making 61 Threes at 35.9%. During his Sophomore season he started 27/28 Games, averaged 11.5 Points, 3.3 Rebounds, 0.9 Assists, making 63 Threes at 39.6%. Additionally, as a Junior he started 37/37 Games, averaged 16.9 Points, 3.1 Rebounds, 1.0 Assists, making 136 Threes at 48.7%.

Offensively
Elite 2-Level Scoring Wing, the best 3 Point shooter in the country who raises over most defenders at 6’9. Made 136’s Three Pointers last year, and can create his own shot at a very underrated level. Elite mid range game with high level footwork compliments his 3P shooting ability immensely. Utilizes a strong pump fake when needed to put him in advantageous mid range scoring opportunities.
Playing with high level playmaking guards like Zoom/Alex, and being in this Kentucky system that’ll prioritize volume 3’s. I just can’t help but feel like Milan is gonna have big time games, with handfuls of made 3’s. Don’t discount his athleticism as well, I think opening up back cut opportunities. Posting Milan at the 3/4 will give him the chance to show off different ways he can be effective as an off/on ball scoring threat.
Defensively
The ‘bad defender’ narrative for Milan Momcilovic is overexaggerated. He’s had some bad games, but watching film he’s had very solid games also. He’s not a lockdown wing, but at 6’9 225lb he does his job on 3/4’s for the most part. He’ll need to be in better shape to chase the athletic SF’s in the SEC, but I believe he can hold his own, and with Moreno on the backside, and the way UK staff teaches their Guards to dig hard on drives, it’ll be a lot of team effort on defense this year, guys that cover a lot ground, very quickly.
Final Thoughts
Kentucky landed the #1 Transfer Portal Prospect who just so happens to be the nations best shooter and theoretically a perfect 3/4 in Mark Pope’s offense. So what can we expect? I think you’ll see Milan get just a tad more volume than last season, while also doing more as a mid range/rim scorer who puts pressure on the defense at all 3 levels. As I mentioned with multiple high level playmaking guards, Kentucky’s system, and transition opportunities I think we might see Kentucky get to those 30 3s per game, with Milan leading he way likley averaging 10+ 3PA’s per game, or very close to it.
