Nikola Kusturica commits to UCLA

Nikola Kusturica has committed to UCLA, bringing an end to one of the longer recruitments this offseason.

As Bleed Blue Network reported earlier this week, momentum had shifted heavily toward the Bruins after Kentucky appeared to be in a strong position for much of the process. Michigan was also a serious contender before the departure of Dusty May which altered their pursuit.

Multiple sources indicated UCLA held several advantages throughout the recruitment. Including Serbian connections, ties to the Serbian National Team and a Serbian player already on the roster. UCLA also remained financially competitive with its NIL package while offering a clearer path to early playing time than Kentucky.

Kentucky made one final push in an attempt to flip the recruitment back in favor, but UCLA stood form in the closing stages. Kentucky was believed to value his long-term upside. However, UCLA ultimately secured his commitment.

Kentucky will not shift focus to filling its final roster spot as Mark Pope continues to evaluate late offseason additions.
