About Ousmane N’Diaye

Ousmane (7’0 210lbs) was part of Senegal’s National Team winning a bronze medal in 2025 at FIBA AfroBasket. He’s played professionally across Europe. Beginning his career in Germany, eventually moving to Spain, and most recently he played in Italy for Vanoli Cremona, which competes in Italy’s top division.

This past season for Vanoli Cremona Ousmane N’Diaye averaging 9.8 points, 6.8 rebounds and 0.9 steals. Likewise, he shot 41% from the field and 30% from three last season.

Offensively

Ousmane N’Diaye is an athletic, floor spacing power-forward. At seven feet he’s incredibly versatile: He shoots and makes three-pointers from anywhere on the floor, runs rim-rim at an elite level, and finishes at the rim really well. One of the most underrated parts of his game is his ball handling ability. He uses to create space for jumpers while the ball is in his hands. When it comes to shooting, it does not matter if it’s on/off ball, in transition/half court, running off screens, etc.

When he catches the ball he has the range to fire he can make it from anywhere. Ousmane can also get to the rim and finish with the ball in his hands, he’s got really solid hands when catching lobs and passes around the rim. Overall he’s a really prototypical power forward you see in the NBA nowadays.

Ousmane N’Diaye Defensively

Ousmane N’Diaye has the ability to be an elite shot blocker, and he moves his feet well on the permitter to switch and guard. The main concern is consistency, and he doesn’t always show it. Also, the SEC is drastically different than how players in Europe traditonally play. They’ll need to tap in to his productive side on the defensive end consistently to get the very most out of him to help the team.

Final Takeaways

Kentucky likely won’t see much production from power-forwards this season as a whole. In year one for Ousmane N’Diaye, there will be plenty of ups and downs. Similarly, he will look incredible and have big nights, and sometimes will have nights where he isn’t on the floor as much as others. His shot selection could very well hurt Kentucky in certain areas if he doesn’t clean that up.

However, he can fit into his role as a stretch player in the frontcourt who’s getting open looks off creators like Zoom Diallo and Alex Wilkins. Not forcing shots and driving to the rim when he gets closed out on hard will be very important. Giving his all defensively as a rim protector, but also as someone who uses his footwork and length to switch and guard the perimeter will be incredibly important for Kentucky this upcoming year.
