The University of Kentucky completed their sixth sweep in a row Sunday evening now winning 20 sets in a row.
While welcoming University of Louisiana State into town the lady cats are looking to capture their eighth
straight SEC title and its crunch time. The team celebrated alumni weekend which Coach Skinner took into
great appreciation. “There’s a standard in the program that we want to live up to and the people that were here
on alumni weekend set that standard.” This team is no different, the cats couldn’t have picked a better time to
get hot. Early in the game LSU looked to be dangerous catching Kentucky off guard and leading but having
trouble from the service line. Kentucky held their own in the first set and Brooklyn Deleye finished it off with a
rifle down the middle of the court and the Cats were all momentum the rest of the way. Beavin and Truzzo were
unbeatable in the backfield with 21 digs combined. With Rutherford and Deleye combining for 22 kills. As for
the team as a whole, “Our serving continues to get better and better in the last couple weeks, having nine aces
in a three set match is a good place to start,” Coach Skinner said in post-game conference. Although the cats
look the most dangerous they have all season there is still many sets to be won and games to played which
calls for more improvement. Looking forward the Wildcats welcome University of Georgia next Sunday at 1:30.
